Born in Hartford, Connecticut, on July 12, 1938, Mary’s early life was marked by a strong work ethic and a deep love for family. She graduated from Hartford Public High School and later attended Florida Atlantic University (FAU), where she earned a degree in Business Administration. It was during her time in Naples, near Mizner Park, that she developed a passion for art and design, a passion that would stay with her throughout her life. She often enjoyed sketching the beautiful architecture of Mizner Park and the vibrant street life.
After graduating from FAU, Mary moved to Naples, Florida, drawn by its stunning natural beauty and vibrant community. She quickly became an integral part of the city, volunteering her time at various charities and becoming a devoted member of the Naples Botanical Garden. Her keen eye for detail and her creativity found expression in her volunteer work, where she helped design and organize fundraising events.
Mary’s professional life was equally impressive. She enjoyed a long and successful career in real estate, initially working for a small firm in Naples before starting her own highly successful brokerage. Her sharp business acumen and her empathetic approach to clients allowed her to build lasting relationships and a reputation for unparalleled professionalism. She was known for her ability to navigate complex real estate transactions with ease and always went above and beyond to help her clients.
Passionate Interests and Enduring Legacy
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Mary had a deep appreciation for the arts. Her home in Naples was a testament to her refined taste, filled with stunning artwork, antique furniture, and carefully curated collections. She was a regular attendee at the Baker Museum, and often took art classes at the Naples Art Association. Her artistic inclinations extended beyond appreciation; she enjoyed painting herself, often capturing the natural beauty of the Everglades in her canvases.

Mary’s most cherished role was as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Robert Pattison; her two children, John and Susan; and four grandchildren. She was the anchor of her family, a source of unwavering support and unconditional love. Her grandchildren remember her fondly for her storytelling, her warm hugs, and her unwavering belief in their potential. Her family gatherings were legendary, filled with laughter, delicious food, and memories that will last a lifetime.
Mary’s friends described her as a warm, intelligent, and generous woman. Services
A memorial service celebrating Mary’s life will be held on November 2nd, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Naples United Church, followed by a reception at the Naples Botanical Garden. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Naples Botanical Garden in Mary’s name.
